Willing to relocate: No

Technologies: C++, Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, CUDA/SIMD; computer vision (retrieval at scale, inspection, SfM/SLAM); German speech recognition on-prem; real-time audio and kernel drivers; embedded/edge inference; RL environments (PPO, verifiable rewards); the boring enterprise plumbing around all of it

Résumé/CV: https://hajo.me/cv/

I'm the fractional ImageRights CTO, looking for a 2nd startup that needs hands-on tech, scale, or AI help.

I have 18 years of experience across 5 companies in taking products from idea to paying customers. I've built ImageRights' web search and image-retrieval database (C++, in service since 2015, finds copyright infringements worldwide), DeutscheKI (100% private German AI and local ASR), and before that the Spatial Audio Designer, used in Hollywood. And a German image distribution start-up.

I have experience with AI research, adaptation, and training. I've built AI RLVR training tasks in the past. Won the 2021 Bomberland mid-season with PPO. I'm also open to northern German on-prem CV/ASR work in case you cannot ship data to any cloud.

Side interests: I built a Pump It Up pad with custom self-developed and self-manufactured sensors. Currently doing CAD design and policy training (with PPO) for a robot.

Recently I've been debugging MSFS2024 inside Proton: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/8255#issuecom...

I'm a full-stack engineer with 8+ years of experience, including five as an independent contractor across e-commerce, travel/booking, and content operations. I often start with incomplete specifications: I talk with users, map the actual workflow, make product and architecture trade-offs, and own delivery through launch and support.

My recent project is https://jobsignal.dev, which turns noisy job posts into structured data. The LLM is only one part; deterministic rules, schema checks, verifier policies, correction loops, and regression evals make the output dependable.

Open to full-time, contract/project work, or a small paid trial.

I build data tools, from the dataframe backend to the browser.

I created and maintain Buckaroo (https://github.com/paddymul/buckaroo), an open source dataframe UI for Jupyter, marimo, and VSCode — summary stats and a histogram over every column, across pandas and polars. 683 stars. Scrolling millions of rows without eating the browser took a segment-merging row cache and parquet decoded client side.

Recently: Tallyman, a data science environment for coding agents. Named computations in a dependency DAG, results rendered live in a browser companion, every step keeping the prompt that made it. Demoed at PyData London 2026.

Before that: Flatfile, Attune, Tudor, and Bokeh/Wakari at Anaconda.

Looking for data infrastructure, developer tools, or agent tooling — where a hard backend problem has to surface as something a person can use.

Hey all. I was laid off on Monday after the company I was working at experienced a major decline in sales, so I'm available immediately.

I'm a full-stack developer who most recently spent 3.5 years at a data-driven marketing firm where I built internal software in JavaScript, C#, and SQL on a small team. I also ended up owning a lot of IT: Active Directory accounts, a phishing awareness guide for staff, troubleshooting, and coordinating with our data vendors. Over the last ~2 years, I have been self-studying penetration testing/security, which proved useful at my last role (managed to find and fix a few vulnerabilities in various codebases, including a file upload to XSS).

Looking for Node/React or .NET roles, especially anything touching application security.

My last position was "Software Analyst", which roughly translates to Sofware Engineer II. I took part of many inceptions of applications, ranging from front-end (React, Native React, Flutter) to backend (.NET, Nest.JS, Fastify), working until their very delivery in production. Dealt with on-premise servers based on Windows Server 2008 to deliver a middleware for Point of Sale products (based on SAP, and Oracle's MySQL). I also helped migrating a large amount of data (peta bytes) from Oracle to Azure Cosmos (with PostgreSQL as backend), while keeping backwards compatibility with existing systems -- my biggest, demanding and fun challenge to date, next to working as a consultant (while in Tivit, formerly Lambda3) to implement Bacen's PIX payment method, in 2021, for ABC Bank.

I'm an anonymous person by default, and a bit paranoid about security and privacy; I don't mind giving away public data, such as the above.

I left my previous work to finally read through my backlog of books (which is going great so far, currently reading "Crime and Punishment" and Xenophon's "Anabasis" in German), and to work on my game (I enrolled in a Distance Learning institution, with Digital Games competence); but I think the time has come to look for new challenges.

Senior/Lead iOS engineer with 10+ years of experience. I'm primarily looking for a great team: talented people, high engineering standards, meaningful autonomy, and an environment that's enjoyable to work in. I enjoy making good software with great people.

Recent work I've done includes modernizing a Top 100 App Store application with SwiftUI and Swift concurrency, driving strict-concurrency adoption ahead of Swift 6, cutting build times by ~50%, and eliminating production Core Data concurrency crashes. I enjoy architecture, platform/foundation work, developer tooling, and difficult technical problems while staying hands-on.

I've spent the past year and a half incorporating agentic coding tools deeply into my engineering workflow, and I'm especially interested in working on a team that see these tools as an important part of modern software development.

I'm an experienced developer, visionary and researcher.

I've created better "Who to be hired?" reader here https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48748491

Reach out to me and I will strengthen your team with my experience and knowledge.

I started working with AI back in 2014 and consider myself one of the early vibe coders. I’m interested in everything related to AI and security, I’ve worked on benchmarks, optimizations, training and inference, tinygrad, H100, B200, DeepSeek etc. I also developed an ultra-fast programming language for executing complex GPU workloads and created a generative OS for it.

Under 25, I created the core of a security scanner and built a hacking team at a UK startup ($7M investment). We removed the GIL from Python to run 30,000 threads and scan 18,000 exchange IPs for malware overnight.

I have many achievements, I created a Top-10 music app on the App Store and an Instagram filter editor for a social network that had 28,000 users at launch.

I worked on a top-30 AI cryptocurrency, built a next-gen version of BitChat https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48748439 and developed a file manager for offline backup drives: https://github.com/web3cryptowallet/drive-py

20+ years of database and backend work, PHP/SQL first, Python and AI pipelines these days. My specialty is messy data: supplier catalogs, PDF price lists, scans and product photos in, clean structured records out, every value traced to its source. I built and run two live SaaS products that do exactly that, so you can try the work before you talk to me. Looking for remote contract work, fixed scope preferred: AI/data pipelines, catalog and OCR systems, product data cleanup, Shopify/WooCommerce integrations. One founder, no agency, I do the work myself. Flexible hours, happy to overlap with your timezone.

I'm an engineer and data professional interested in team-building, consulting and architecting data pipelines and AI/ML workflows. At Edmunds.com, I worked on a fairly successful ad-tech product and my team bootstrapped a data pipeline using Spark, Databricks, and microservices built with Java, Python, and Scala.

At ATTN:, I re-built an ETL Kubernetes stack, including data loaders and extractors that handle >10,000 API payload extractions daily. I created SOPs for managing data interoperability with Facebook Marketing, Facebook Graph, Instagram Graph, Google DFP, Salesforce, etc.

More recently, I was the CTO and co-founder of a crypto gaming startup. We raised over $6M and I was in charge of building out a team of over a dozen remote engineers and designers, with a breadth of experience ranging from Citibank, to Goldman Sachs, to Microsoft. I moved on, but retain significant equity and a board seat.

That I'm a top-tier developer goes without saying, but I'm also interested in flexing my consulting muscle and can help with best practices, architecture, and hiring. Would love to connect even if it's just for networking!

SEEKING CONTRACT WORK | Forward Deployed Data scientist | Canada/Remote Worldwide

I use AI to build DS pipelines. 15+ years shipping ML inside messy, regulated environments - automotive, mineral rights, health care, maritime security, logistics. I go on-site (or virtually), dig up the data nobody mapped, figure out what the right question is, then build and deploy. Part Archeologist, part anthropologist, and part data scientist.

What I've done:

   - Built a corrosion detection system classifying corrosion (API 571), and pitting depths from imagery and structured light.
   - Deployed an AI validation pipeline for BIM/CAD against 400-page ESG standards, cutting review from days to minutes.
   - Built and integrated a part-failure prediction system into a German automaker's production workflow, avoiding lemon law recalls ($20M+ exposure)
   - Oil & gas well and lease production forecasting.
   - Stood up real-time emissions detection on industrial smokestacks, preventing $75K-per-incident fines
   - Revenue optimization and persona identification for debt collections (15-20% net revenue lift)
   - Built an LLM-based legal document extraction system (land runsheets), collapsing 3-day DD cycles to 30 minutes.
   - Built vessel piracy risk engine that informed naval escort deployment, contributing to fewer hijackings.
Things I won't work on:

   - Gambling.
   - Ads/Surveillance.
   - Payday loans/rent-to-own.
Email me (in bio) with a short description of your problem. I'll reply promptly.

Software engineer and hands-on technical lead with 20 years of experience focused on data and backend engineering, with an emphasis on building dependable systems and improving how they’re developed and maintained. Recent efforts have included leading the development, launch, and ongoing ownership of a company-wide API; optimizing an insurance model to run over 20× faster through vectorization, algorithmic improvements, and moving performance-critical code to C++; and establishing engineering standards and practices such as CI/CD that meaningfully reduced the number of bugs reported.

Over the years, I’ve worked on data workflows, scientific automation and analytics, APIs and web applications, developer tooling, and software for resource-constrained devices. I’ve also built and contributed to open-source projects covering data exploration, bioinformatics, CAD, programming language extensions, and distributed peer networking.

Most early teams hire one person to build the AI features and another to find customers for them. I do both.

Build side: Cogniflow AI (open source, 26 stars) is a RAG app that answers questions over YouTube, podcasts and PDFs, with citations that jump to the exact second of the video. DevChat is real-time chat on Supabase with row-level security checked by a 37-case test suite. I'm a backend intern at Springer Capital (US) on Node.js/Python services.

Sell side: I research who's ready to buy (fresh funding, hiring, live product) and turn it into outbound with a source behind every row.

Looking for: AI engineer, GTM engineer or founding generalist at an early-stage startup. Full-time or contract. CS student, graduating 2027.

Start with a paid 1-2 week trial if you'd rather see the work first.

For the past few years I've been building and operating distributed systems, mostly in Rust: real-time event ingestion, custom query engines and memory-efficient data structures. As a founder and sole engineer, I built and still run a product whose infrastructure handles around 40 million requests per week.

My query-engine work includes Roaring-bitmap indexes and lock-free index swaps, so queries don't wait for index refreshes. I've built event-driven systems with deterministic replay, idempotent outputs and crash-safe checkpoints.

I've also designed and implemented content-addressed storage protocols, including verified streaming and end-to-end-encrypted, versioned filesystems over multiple storage backends. I've used Rust/WebAssembly, WebTransport and service workers for verified, encrypted browser streaming, and FFI to integrate native libraries and expose Rust functionality to other runtimes.

I'm looking for a full-time Rust-first role in distributed systems, storage, networking or systems-heavy AI infrastructure, and I'm available to start immediately.
