My exposure to their hardware is mostly limited to the Macbooks of coworkers and family members, but I didn't realize there was any overlap between Tahoe support (seems to only go back to hardware released around 2020) and Firewire ports (seems to only go forward to hardware released around 2012).
Thunderbolt port still supports Firewire, so if you have the correct adapters, you can connect your old Firewire camcorder to digitize cassettes, but with Tahoe, Apple removed the Firewire drivers so they no longer work.
