I had this issue too, so I remapped Ctrl-W/Shift-Ctrl-W to Ctrl-\/Shift-Ctrl-\ . (Also git operations became two-key sequences, starting with Ctrl-G and that damn Ctrl-K stopped being the shortcut for commit.)
