I hear you but how much change do you really feel we can make on the government. Whatever they end up wanting to do they will do. The bigger change we, especially those on sites like HN can make, is making sites, protocols, and new networking methods to bypass that issue. Mesh networking, sites more similar to a gopher protocol, utilising the eventual QC and Photonic computing for the community benefit, and so on. It interests me that you are rightfully anti banning vpns etc but still happy to use Google/YouTube,/unwilling to accept any slowdown. There surely has to be some sacrifice to support change.
