Less than that, between 900MB and 1.2GB and that's due to file and stuff indexation. The good thing on Linux and BSDs is you can swap for a light wm/compositor and your back below 150MB idle.

Source for 150mb? Maybe in the Linux kernel 2.6 days but no modern batteries-included linux distro competing with macos or windows 11 idles at 150m, maybe just the likes of tiny core linux. So please stop arguing in bad faith.
