I am assuming it is a bunch of manual work.

You use Cloudfront. Which you’re already doing anyway but yes, you do need to configure it.

Technically, probably CloudFront.
Equivalent is probably putting AWS CloudFront in front of your lambda. Has edge caching with customizable config.
