alt Hacker NewsI have the same dual 32" LG setup at home and the dayjob, and have never had any issues or any requirements to install anything for them to work. That said, they're QHD, not 4k or 5k, and probably 6 years old. I'm not a gamer or a high-fidelity consumer, needing the displays to be dumb and reliable at rendering text and the web.
This is at the driver level, just like when you plugin new webcam, keyboard, gpu, etc. Windows will automatically install a default driver for that device. Now, instead of a driver, Windows will happily install some random craps that the hardware asks it to without needing any input from the users. Totally BS from Microsoft.
