I am always reminded at a convenience store if I pick up a candy bar that some of my earliest memories include them costing 5 cents in the early 1970s that very quickly became 10 cents and by the late 70s, maybe 25 cents max for a standard size. Today, easily 10x this.

I just can't buy impulse candy anymore. It seems outrageously expensive to me, and I got my start in the 50¢ era of the 80s-90s.

Everything I can think of at the very least tripled in price since 2000, but according to official sources we have a cumulated 50% inflation since then
