alt Hacker NewsPlug a USB-C-to-3.5-mm adapter into the end of the audio cable. Plug it into your phone. Done.
You can even keep the connector on the end of the audio cable permanently.

you can also buy a "USB C to 3.5mm audio cable".
If Google ever fixed Android/AOSP to fully support Apple's adapter for complete volume control, that would be swell.

After Google discontinued their own adapter, Apple's might be the next best alternative. But not with that issue unfixed.
