That's (sadly) a Swedish name, yes.
I think it's a pretty cool name. But it's pronounced more like "Yeah"-rker.
I worked with a guy called Jerker at IBM in Greenock, who soon learned to give back as good as he got. Swedish people can be pretty sarcastic, so he was what you'd call a "good cultural fit".
