Couldn't one argue that if you think "most" of the people who say they like going to the office are lying, abuse victims, burned out parents, power tripping managers, narcissists, perverts and lonely losers, that it might be *you* that has an unresolved issue? Maybe people really do enjoy being in the office because they enjoy spending time with like minded people engaging in a common activity. If there really was no benefit to gathering in a common space in person with like minded people to engage in a shared activity, conventions wouldn't be nearly as big of a thing as they are, and they certainly wouldn't be big among famously introverted nerd and geek interests and hobbies. And yet when I talk about a "convention" I bet your mind goes first to a nerd event, something like comic-con or a star trek convention, or even CES.
