That seemed to be the point though, to highlight some kind of technological advancements of the time. I was always intrigued by it, like it was taken by multiple lenses, so it's essentially a 3d 'image' allowing a certain amount of point of view change.
Clumsy as fuck interface though, I'll grant that.
