alt Hacker NewsOne of the things that Steve Jobs got very right was "and you can order right now". Announcements where you have to wait a month to order throw away all of the hype. Even allowing pre-orders and shipping later is a better idea and so silly that Apple has started walking away from that.

So many things I would impulse buy, but I have to wait a month and so I don't.

At least in the UK, that's exactly what they're doing right now. They're allowing pre-orders, with shipping on Sept 22.
