For an Android user, you can already build such a system yourself quite trivially by getting two phones, attaching them with a small hinge or case, and using an app to synchronise content between the displays. From a laptop or tablet, the same applications and files could be accessed through existing cloud services
Having to build a distributed system to sync storage between two devices or build your own custom hardware isn't exactly trivial
