alt Hacker NewsIt's lousy that you can't turn off the badge notifications for the Settings app, which is where they push this garbage. I'm still on iOS 18, and I just have to live with a red '1' on my Settings app because I haven't updated my OS. It also pokes me every week or two to update.
It's not Microsoft-level annoyance, but it's not the way Apple used to be, either.
You could move the settings app to a less-used home-screen page, or you can remove the settings icon from the home screen entirely.
It's mildly annoying to have to do the swipe-down-and-search to get to settings but it's not an app I use all that often.
