We can argue to death, as usually happens in Waymo threads about public transit but the general truth is mass transit is hard in America where cities are designed mostly around cars. Could it change, sure but most likely not. This seems like such an elegant solution that I hope other cities adopt and use as part of new transit planning.
Things are changing though. LA (arguably the car city) has been heavily investing in public transit options. We have decades of scars from the automobile industry being able to drive transit policy to make up for but I think that age is finally waning. Ofc we're still far behind Europe and China where NYC seems like the bare minimum of public transit
