Going on a slight tangent, I wanted to do the same thing but with firefighting instead. One thing I've found is that a good portion of your time is supposedly spent doing fundraisers
Most firefighters need to also be trained as EMTs because most calls are medical. The reverse is not true.
If you're in a small enough rural enough volunteer fire department, fundraisers are fairly rare. And also no medical training needed (or even firefighter training for that matter!)
