You young people have it so easy now.

Back in the late 60s (IIRC) two songs from the radio stuck in my head and would not move until I found out what they were.

One turned out to be Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash. Finally finding out what the song was was fantastic. The other turned out - after at least two decades! - to be "They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!" by Napoleon XIV. It seems nuts that a song would have such an influence on a young mind and be on tap, waiting for recognition, for so long.

But seriously, having heard something like that on Dr Demento while you're trapped in the back of a car during a 8 hour trip to grandma's and then trying to find a copy of it somewhere which involved asking every music section/record store clerk you came across for the next 8 years, makes you remember that we really are living in an incredible time...
