I find this perspective to be narrow and uncurious. AI is disrupting community -- it is not utterly dissolving it. I see no evidence of that. So many, including the OP, see AI as separator, an entombing force, somehow a black hole of intellect. In reality it is an evolution of the search engine which connects, navigates and further constructs digital civilization.

Because the ultra-rich people who are building and controlling most of it are using it to do exactly those things to society, because they aren't capable of sharing this planet with the rest of us equitably. Were it being used to empower humanity (instead of just a small handful of the worst of us), I'm pretty sure the "AI haters" would be a tiny minority at most (if they existed at all).
This assertion would look good beside some concrete examples.
