When faced with AI some companies are looking for employees to fire to achieve same goals cheaper. Other companies are looking how to uplift their employees to expand their capability and excelence.

Maybe the same thing happens at the level of individual persons. I think the difference is whether you felt limited or competent. If you felt competent you shrink. If you felt limited, you grow.
