get a gl.inet router

they are not prohibitively expensive and have a version of openwrt installed

if anything, you are sure to be able to install openwrt on them yourself

if you get good at openwrt you can install it on other parts of your home network like the zyxel gs1900 series switches for up to 48 ports

the reason not to install off-the-shelf consumer routers is privacy, security and enshittification
