And I say this while using AI happily and successfully to maintain a legacy system I inherited.
There's no skill required to use AI that is not also a skill required to actually develop software by yourself.

yeah and it seems like a lot of those skills are concentrated in the reviews section.

You get very in touch with the product and design. The new demands being made of the system. The requirements, what "done" looks like, how to prove the system does what it's supposed to. Everything on either end of the implementation.
