Russian state actors and propaganda networks literally using Yandex's ASN is like the CIA calling you from a payphone in the lobby of Langley.
Now you could say that parts of their infrastructure were hosted in there, and I'm sure it was, but the "bot" traffic narrative was pretty stupid.

Thats a bit if a silly analogy isnt it? It would be more correct to say it would be like the NSA/CIA operating out of google datacenters, which they do, extensively.

Unless they don't care if you know. Or don't think it matters. Or if they think the targets are too stupid/lazy/busy to bother to examine/notice the evidence.
