They killed combatants in a war started by the same. Assuming you grant Israel the right to defend itself against those who attack them they could also have chosen to use less precisely targeted means to disable these combatants, leading to more 'collateral damage'. How would you have reacted had they done so?

They killed and maimed far more bystanders than the targets themselves.
I'm afraid to say there is zero justification for the atrocities Israel commits. None.
