Actually, used to live in SF. And yeah the tenderloin is pretty bad. Saw drug use and and a lot incredible things walking through those areas.

But wondering if that is also just a city thing? LA has Skid Row and just looked it up online, many metros have a Skid-Row type area.

Not saying that lenient crime policies don't make them worse, but it also might just be a feature of cities?
