I know many (big) places that are already back-paddling. From token leadership boards (more = better) to now saving on AI cost, because the benefit was less than expected. As if this wasn't obvious. Sigh.

Sure MS, Meta, etc, are still laying off engineers to have money for data centers. But I am 99.9% sure that they will thoroughly regret that move in less than 2 years.
