The other catch is that those displays are built for heavy duty use, not for picture quality, and as such aren’t going to look as good as even a budget consumer OLED TV.
Disagree. They look more than fine, much better than the budget TV with their fake saturation turned to 11 out of the box. If you think that looks good you might have gotten used to it.
The ones the serve menus and the ones that serve eye-level video ads are definitely also built for picture quality. Still IPS for the most part, but uniformity and colour calibration can be movie-worthy
Not a problem, coming from a 1080p unit haha
We used them all the time for work.
If you get the crap ones, they will look crap.
However any of the midrange ones will be brighter than the equivalent consumer (they have to operate in full sun 24/7)
You will not find an oled though, because they have yet to be full duty cycle (well I've not looked, but if they do exist, they will be many monies.)
Get yourself a nice NEC 4k, you'll be happy. unless you want 8k (good luck finding a source for the 8k) or you really like the motion smoothing of poorly setup consumer TVs.
