alt Hacker NewsI got 2 of these, Amazon, 65inch. When I purchased (years ago) Amazon said "only 8 left". This TV is so dumb its clock is still in 1989. Three HDMI so it's got a Sworch2, Roku and a vSee box on it.
I was so/so on the purchase but after watching all the heck around 'smart" TVs I'm wondering what I'll do when these die. They were like 50% cost of the industrial display category, which seems my only option in the future.
Hoping these LLMs get us to jailbroken TVs soon.
There's something so reassuring about seeing that "12:00AM Jan-06-1980 (Sun)" on mine whenever I power it on.
It's just a big HDMI display device (and audio pass-through) and that's all I want or need of it.
