So anyone that has lived in large Windows corporate IT land, a lot of decisions get made by people that aren't technical. Come to think of it, it's probably why a large majority of "hacks" happen to Windows machines; a highly technical team with a vulnerable OS will probably have the right security layers in place to mitigate this.
