I use AI extensively at work. I don't vibe code - I'm extremely intentional about what I have it do.

I keep getting excited because I can ask it questions and learn so much from it, but then I realize that a lot of what I'm learning is specific technical knowledge that I don't really need anymore.

That said, the important stuff in building systems has never been the coding. It's the wisdom to organize the system in such a way that it works well and is changeable. AI is still really bad at this. But it's super good at the for loops and if statements, which is actually the easy stuff.
