alt Hacker NewsappImage is not a great packaging format for Linux. Any chance you could ship a flatpak instead? You'd likely need to host your own flatpak remote, but it's not rocket surgery.

It is far, far easier to convert an AppImage into a Flatpak (or any other packaging form) than vice versa.
If a dev is only going to choose one, I'd much rather they ship an AppImage.
