1. I have a $20 ChatGPT subscription and a $10 OpenCode Go subscription. This is more than enough for my personal use. While my preferred model is currently Sol, I intentionally rotate through different models to ensure that I don't get into any model-specific habits that may not work in the future.

2. I very rarely experiment with local models, and then only out of curiosity, not for any actual work, just to see what they can do within the limitations of my Mac Studio with 32GB of memory. I do not use any API offerings.

3. I primarily use Zed and JetBrains IDEs (Zed has overall better agent support, JetBrains still has by far the better IDEs). I only rarely use terminal clients; IDE integration is something I consider essential for most of my work, even if both Zed and JetBrains have their limitations, they're better than the raw CLI experience. I should also add that at least for personal stuff, I still frequently write code by hand, where IDEs also come in handy. Skill atrophy is a real risk. Fun example: When doing leetcode problems (for fun and as a mental exercise), I may use an agent to generate test cases beyond the official ones and do spoiler-free reviews of my solutions.

4. I don't use any orchestration tools. Almost all my work with agents is interactive, and the rare occasions where I let agents do stuff autonomously – such as a one-off script or quick visualization – don't require a complicated setup, just a precise enough prompt or spec (which I will usually construct interactively beforehand if it's non-trivial).
