- 2023 using Cursor
- 2024 using Cursor with Agent mode
- 2025 using Claude Code
- 2026 using Codex with Astra 6
I've try every new model when it comes out from both OpenAI and Anthropic. I cannot justify leaving Codex and Astra 6. The token burn on Anthropic is always astronomical for me. Codex just works, and I see no reason to move away from it.

I switched from Codex to Claude Code w/ Opus 5.5, and it's been fine. I haven't hit limits in my $100/mo plan, doing full time dev work all day. But I agree. Codex sub + Astra is also great. Both are excellent options, and I don't see a reason to go with a cheaper / less capable model, frankly.
This matches my experience, Claude limits with Fable blows up the entire 20x usage in like an hour, whereas Astra can run a couple days.
